
Limavady is a busy market town in County Londonderry in Northern Ireland with Benevenagh mountain as a backdrop and the white beaches of Benone and Magilligan a short drive away. It currently has a population of about 150,000 people. These unspoilt beaches are perfect for kitesailing, windsurfing or just surfing.
Limavady is well known in Ulster, lying in an area of outstanding natural beauty. It is home to the well known Danny Boy lyric and hosts the Jazz and Blues Festival every year. There is a thriving top class rugby and cricket club as well as a picturesque golf course and driving range lying adjacent to the Roe Valley Country Park.
It is undergoing economic growth as it sits nestled between Londonderry and Belfast and is within a short drive to the City of Derry airport with Ryanair flying to Stansted, Liverpool, Glasgow and East Midlands. Limavady has some of the top schools in the UK. The Limavady Grammar school is currently 54th in the UK league tables.
Motorsport is well represented in the area. Limavady hosts the Dog Leap Stages Rally every year as well as being well placed for travelling to the North West 200 motorbike race held in Coleraine each year. The Motocross World Championships are also held here occasionally.
